It is widely used in seawater desalination, industrial wastewater treatment, and food and medicine purification. In simple terms, by passing direct current through salt water, the charged salt ions pass through the specific membrane and are removed, leaving behind fresh water or concentrated liquid.
The electrodialyzer (ED) is an electrochemical separation device that utilizes ion-exchange membranes and direct current electric fields to desalinate water. It falls under the category of membrane separation technology. The core principle is that through the selective permeability of the cation exchange membrane to cations and the anion exchange membrane to anions, under the action of an external electric field, ions in water are directedly migrated, forming a freshwater chamber and a concentrated water chamber, thereby achieving the purpose of desalination.
Electrodialysis power supply refers to a device that uses the action of a direct current electric field to enable charged ions in a solution to selectively pass through an ion exchange membrane for the purpose of electrolyte separation. It belongs to the separation technology in the field of chemical engineering. Its core principle is based on the selective permeability of cation exchange membranes, which only allow cations to pass through, and anion exchange membranes, which only allow anions to pass through. Through the application of an external electric field, ions are driven to migrate in a directional manner, forming a two-way separation system of a desalination chamber and a concentration chamber.
